"Background" is defined as follows:

• "Background" is the color of the back (flat) wall in "against the wall" models such as the Rectangle, Ultraquarium and Flat Back Hexagon, Half Cylinder, Bow Front, Teneview and Wave aquariums.
• "Background" is the color of the two back sides in "corner" aquariums such as the Pentagon, Quarter Cylinder, Vista and L-Shape.
• The flat end panel of the Bull Nose aquarium is considered the "background" for the color choice. 
• The Cylinder aquarium does not have a colored wall or "background"; it is clear all around.
• "Background" for the Hexagon aquarium is three of the six sides which can be blue or black.

Please note the following regarding the clear background choice:

• The background colors above also refer to the color of the filter chamber wall in Simplicity Plus aquariums.
  Note that clear is not available for Simplicity Plus aquariums.
• All clear aquariums are generally used in "all-around" viewing situations.
• When a blue or black background is used with a Show tank with pre-filter, the pre-filter color is the same as the background color.
• When an all clear tank is used walls behind or adjacent to the aquarium may be seen. Also plumbing components for filtration and wiring for the aquarium lighting may be seen through the clear aquarium background.
